Effect Of World Landforms On Humans
The earth is made of different shapes of the land. The world Landforms are not static meaning they keep on changing from time to time. There are different reasons why the shape of the earth keeps on changing. This includes human economic activities and earth tectonic movements. The impact of human activities on land forms of the world may sometimes be devastating to the environment.
There are numerous reasons why people keep on changing the shape of the earth. Farmers change the earth to grow food that is supplied to people all over the world. Sometimes people change features of the world to protect ourselves or even create land to live for example in Holland. Another good example is the dikes that were created to protect people living near the ocean from hurricanes and floods. It is therefore wise to conclude that the change is good if it benefit the society.
One of the most visible and obvious effect of World Landforms on humans is their shifting. A large percent of the earth has been created by shifting the landforms through tectonic movements. Tectonic movements sometimes cause earthquake or even trigger volcanic eruptions. The overall effect is change in both pressure and temperature. Subsequently, people are forced to shift away from point of action of land forming processes.
The basic structure of earth shape has direct bearing on humans. Scientists are forced to perform some research project to see to it that the land is safe for human to live or conduct their activities on. Some rocks, for example granite, are more secure to build your house on than others, for instance shale. Another important factor about the structure is drainage. Scientists need to establish how the streams and water drain and its effect on the rock structure.
Finally, the shape of the earth also affects the weather patterns of a place. Highlands are generally cooler than low lands. Mountain may form barrier for rain clouds preventing them from entering valleys. Snow may also form at mountain tops rather than at their bottom. This indicates that weather patterns have a dramatic impact on Landforms of the World .
